ESN Cluj-Napoca

The first and largest ESN section in Romania, established in 2004. We support international students during their Erasmus journey, fostering cultural exchange and friendships. As part of the wider Erasmus Student Network (ESN), which has sections in many other countries across Europe and beyond, we are connected to a truly international community.

OUR PROJECTS

Intro Days
We welcome around 500 Erasmus+ and international students every semester during the first 3–4 weeks of the academic period, with a wide variety of events: social nights, trips, parties, quizzes, city tours, museum crawls, dance workshops, traditional and international activities. 

As the most complex local project of our section, Intro Days promotes ESN causes, supports integration into the local community, and marks an exciting start to students’ stay in Cluj, Romania.
 
Erasmus Fest
The first edition took place on October 19th, 2024, featuring two parts: workshops covering the 6 ESN causes, followed by a night event. 
 
This new project aims to engage both international and local communities, offering knowledge about the Erasmus+ programme and showing how ESN causes can be applied in Romania—through an experience that is both educational and entertaining.

The main goal of ESN Cluj-Napoca is to engage the international community in the local society of Cluj and in Romanian culture overall. We also organize activities for our volunteers, helping them develop personally and professionally while preparing them for new challenges. Our team of dedicated volunteers works to deliver events that ensure international students enjoy the best exchange experience possible.

VOLUNTEERS

 

Being a volunteer in ESN Cluj-Napoca is a rewarding, fun, and meaningful experience. You’re constantly discovering new perspectives, learning from others, and realizing just how diverse and incredible the world is, while also noticing how much we all have in common. Along the way, you’ll build friendships, gain confidence, and create memories you never imagined.

But it’s not only your soft skills that will grow. Here, everyone’s talents matter. Every idea, every skill, every bit of enthusiasm helps us create an unforgettable Erasmus experience for the students who arrive in Cluj. Our section is structured into three departments:

  • HR (Human Resources) – taking care of volunteers, recruitment, onboarding, internal growth, and keeping our family connected.

  • MK (Marketing) – communication, social media, visuals, storytelling, and shaping the image of ESN Cluj-Napoca.

  • EP (Events & Projects) – planning activities, cultural events, trips, and everything that brings people together.

Whether you enjoy organizing events, creating content, supporting people, or just bringing good vibes, there’s always a place for you. You don’t need to be an expert in anything — just curious, motivated, and open to learning. 

Because at the end of the day, that’s what defines us: Students Helping Students.
